We met online as teenagers through our love for (heavy) music and going to concerts — and somehow we never really stopped talking after that.

Photography was always there. Not in a serious, “this is going to be our future” kind of way, just something we both loved and kept coming back to while growing up. Back then, Ruben was studying to work in IT and Joana was pretty sure she’d become a forensic scientist. Turns out… life had other plans. Somewhere along the way, this hobby we did for fun slowly became our life. And honestly, it still feels a bit surreal to say this is our job.

Twelve years later, we’re still choosing each other everyday and building a life that truly feels ours. A life filled with travel, with time spent outside, with a home that’s never really quiet — now shared with our pets, and one day, maybe with small humans running through it. A life shaped by curiosity, by creativity, and by the belief that it should be fully lived, with kindness and honesty.

We are deeply connected to nature - it’s where we slow down, breathe deeper and remember what truly matters; it’s where we recharge and find inspiration; it’s what fuels our souls and our art. Nature teaches us to be present, to notice all the little fleeting moments, all the different textures, how the light shapes the way we see the world.

We’re also the kind of people who fall in love with new things constantly. Running, hiking, mountain biking, trying to make good latte art, reading, gaming - we collect hobbies the same way we collect moments. If you ever want co-op game suggestions or romantasy book recs, we’re your people.
